Nobody likes to see their children suffering from this discomfort. Fortunately, there are a few natural remedies that can help relieve these problems. While these conditions aren’t life threatening, they can be really uncomfortable, even painful, especially for children.
So, here are some ideas I’ve found that helped to relieve my children (and me, too 😉
Your son or daughter may feel fine on the outside but internally, their body craves essential nutrients such as potassium, chloride and sodium. All of these can be provided by stirring some lemon juice in plain water and drinking it throughout the day to offer their body the essential nutrients it needs. Lemon juice can also be substituted with freshly-squeezed orange juice.
For centuries, yogurt has been one of the most effective items to treat multiple conditions. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it works its wonders in fixing both of these alternating conditions too. Consuming yogurt increases the good bacteria in the body which, as a result, helps destroys the bad ones. Medical science refers to these good bacteria as lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium. When the stomach gets pounded by processed food and is unable to properly digest it, yogurt helps reduce the severity of constipation as well as restoring a balance between the good and bad bacteria.
Be it chamomile, mint, ginger or black tea, all have proven to be an excellent herbal treatment to cure diarrhea and constipation. Herbal or black tea helps stimulate the colon and quickens the process of digestion, making your child ready to go to the bathroom soon after consumption when suffering from chronic constipation.
